Large projects encounter community objection. The conventional response — to litigate the objection, secure an injunction, and resume — is procedurally available and almost always strategically wrong.
Structured community mediation produces a different instrument: a community covenant signed by the project promoter, the affected residents, and a third-party monitor. The covenant is enforceable, transparent, and renewable.
Projects that proceed under a community covenant complete on schedule more often than projects that proceed under an injunction. The difference is trust, and trust is a measurable asset on a project balance sheet.
